Shipping Policy

Affordable Knives normally ships via UPS ground. Our on-line store automatically calculates shipping and handling charges based on data received directly from UPS. Hence, your order shipping charge will depend on the weight of the products you order, your location, and the type of shipping service you choose. You may specify second day or overnight UPS shipping as well on the secure site. We may, at our discretion, ship some orders via U.S. Priority Mail.

Sorry, we no longer process international orders. The number of chargebacks, losses, credit card frauds and customs delays has grown to the point that international sales as a whole represent a net loss to our company. The exception, of course, is U.S. military personnel on active duty overseas. We gladly support our military people with APO or FPO postal service addresses. APO/FPO orders must be shipped through the US Postal Service. APO/FPO customers should choose ground transportation on their order.

Sales to Minors. Affordable Knives does not sell knives or other products to minors. If you are under 18 years of age, please have a parent or guardian place an order for you.

Mail Order. If you prefer to prepay, you may order by mail. Simply enclose a money order or cashier's check for the amount of the products you want plus $8.00 for shipping and handling.

Returns. To bring you the lowest prices we can, Affordable Knives operates on a thin profit margin. Our return policy is based on that margin. We will accept returns of brand new, unused merchandise that includes all original packaging with no questions asked for up to 30 days after the invoice date. We cannot accept used merchandise or returns that are incomplete (i.e., lacking original packaging or included documents.) When you open your package, please keep this in mind to avoid return problems should you have a problemwith the product. Defective products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. We can help you get a replacement for a defective product during the first 30 days after invoice date. After that, we ask that you contact the manufacturer directly for warranty action. It is impossible for hackers to steal credit card numbers from our server because credit card numbers are never saved to our server. The financial transaction is made directly with the credit card processor on line. We do not even have access to our customers' credit card numbers. Because of this, we do not even need to use SSL. However, we do continue to have SSL security like all other sites simply to obviate questions and concerns from customers. Your transaction is as secure as humanly possible on Knife Outlet and far more secure than the great majority of e-commerce web sites. The only sites that can possibly be as secure as ours are those that do what we do with credit card numbers.

We do not make use of email addresses except to communicate about customer orders. We do not sell or give personal information of any kind to any other company. We do not send spam or email advertising of any kind.

In other words, we do nothing with customer's personal information that we wouldn't want them to do with ours.

Paper Catalogs. We get requests for printed catalogs daily. Our prices are significantly lower than those provided by mail order companies who mail printed catalogs. One of the reasons for that is that we avoid the expense of printing and mailing catalogs and maintain our catalog strictly on line. The on-line catalog has two advantages. The first is that it is current because it is updated daily. The second is that it allows you to order directly on-line at any time that is convenient for you. We feel our on-line catalog coupled with our low prices provides a good value and we have no plans to print catalogs in the future.
